Two stellar remixes of Yaz's classic "Don't Go" up next on RR1000. Lemon8 turns in a badass pumping progressive journey clocking in somewhere around 14 minutes! Imagine combining the devastating chunky driving drum work of Lemon8's mix of J.F. Sebastian's Burden with the atmospheric beauty of Lemon8's own Sanctuary and you begin to get the idea. Layered around the timeless Yaz vocals, Lemon8 builds the perfect marathon club groover. Dark drum sounds, nasty driving bassline pattern and just enough subtle sounds washed in reverb do the duty. Devastating! Not to be outdone on the flip, Jay Tripwire, who these days seems to be guiding tech-house into the next century, gets into the action. Jay's mix is deep and funky with his signature crispy tight percussion programming shining through. But right when you think you know what to expect, Jay throws in the curve ball of truly bizarre quirky synth ripping riffs. Not quite electro, not quite retro ... but something sitting way out in the uncharted territories of the future of tech-house.
