Hollandâ??s somewhat recently formed talent 16 Bit Lolitaâ??s emerge from the depths, and with much to offer. Xpander.nlâ??s Patrick Willer, Peter Kriek, and Adriaan Olieroock form the production trio 16 Bit Lolitaâ??s. Together they perform as a DJ team and live act pushing the limits of the latest technology delivering a wide range of sound from experimental lounge to forceful floor filling beats. Their Amsterdam based production company Lost Orchestra extends itâ??s services beyond the dancefloor realm which include film, TV, and radio.
The Original mix is brilliant house piece with heavy yet smooth percussion, lush sweeping strings, and analog sounds. The vocals of Jenny Willermstijn bring it all together nicely as things develop, all the while keep you guessing which direction the track will take on next. The programming is excellent and the arrangement of vocals and blend of warm sounds give it solid appeal.
The Dub mix is a bit deeper and darker sounding with the shuffling bassline and more vocoded effects. Subtle swooshing stabs give it depth throughout. As the third and final series of beats take affect the analog stabs similar to the original surface and then fades as the track unravels. A floor friendly track by all means, and my favorite of the two pieces. A great 2004 release for Extrema. Look for more production efforts from this team in 2004 on Deep Records and Yoshitoshi.
