The name Dachshund is one immediately associated with experimantation, an innate feeling for ryhthm and good dose of tongue and cheek. The Swiss DJ, producer and label founder can scarcely hide his musical roots in Reggae. The sunshine feeling from those days still shines through in his current productions and gives them a touch of dub. His latest EP for Highgrade Records is no different. This leads to the first track “Extensive Talk“ with its reduced beginning sounding something like a false start. Gloomy voices implore us to ’ Come, sit down, forever’. This delusion establishes itself in a musical theatre, while simultaneously becomming more pressing as the track winds it’s way into the legs – moving inexorably towards the second groovy track, “Asymmentric Love“, with it’s sprinkle of varied and original sound ideas. The final offering, “Octogone“ goes even further and weaves original loops and straight edged percussion into a compelling carpet of sound.
